Marcos Sáinz

Founder and CEO of MS DESIGN

Marcos Sainz, architect graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), arrived in Spain in the late 1960s with a visionary approach and deep respect for the Mediterranean context. Disciple and close collaborator of renowned Swiss architect Noldi Schreck, he played a key role in one of the Costa del Sol’s most iconic projects: the co-creation of Puerto Banús in 1970.

Together with Schreck, he proposed a design inspired by a traditional white Andalusian village—narrow streets, charming plazas, and a luxurious marina—rejecting high-rise towers. This forward-thinking vision turned Puerto Banús into a global benchmark for glamour and landscape-integrated architecture, forever shaping Marbella and the Costa del Sol.

Since then, Marcos Sainz has built an extensive portfolio of over 300 works spanning more than five decades. His career includes exclusive luxury villas, residential developments, urban planning, commercial spaces, and public buildings in Marbella and internationally (Mexico, US, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and beyond). Founder of MS Design in 1971, his signature style features clean lines, harmonious form-function balance, and timeless architecture that blends elegance, functionality, and emotional connection to the surroundings.

Under his guidance, MS DESIGN remains a leading luxury architecture studio, alongside the works of his son Maurice Sáinz, MS preservs the legacy of excellence and sensitivity that has defined his career.
