This home perches on a hillside of La Zagaleta complex and is the result of an ambitious experiment that required a suitable, solid and well structured approach. Avant garde and classicism were combined to form a strong and transparent architecture that takes the fundamental elements of Andalusian architecture, adapts them to more contemporary concepts and yields an interaction between nature and architecture.

We started by designing integrated complementary platforms where the house was to be built. The house is entered through a large courtyard contained by the volumes of the house that embraces this space. The interior layout was designed by creating a separation between the family living spaces and the more private spaces, such as the bedrooms. These spaces are interconnected through internal openings and visual connections through courtyards and gardens. There is a visual connection between the double height living and dining rooms and a porch area for outdoor living. This was achieved with the use of walls, ponds and landscaping and is, in turn, connected to the pool, which is designed with geometric shapes integrated into the architecture and the environment.
