Swans International School – Avoiding the typical institutional image often associated with educational centers was the fundamental premise in this design, while maintaining the coherence and spatial organization required for the proper functioning of the facility.
Another starting point was to adapt the project to a more flexible and less rigid architectural typology, thereby creating a more human environment with well-proportioned, comfortable spaces.
Access to the center is through a single-story building with an exposed gabled roof, designed to provide a sense of spaciousness. This building houses the reception area and administrative offices, with interior walls that do not reach the roof, enhancing visual depth.
From this entrance, one reaches a central vestibule that connects to two symmetrical buildings that contain the classrooms and multipurpose rooms, as well as access to the playground and sports facilities. The classroom corridors are centrally located, allowing both sides of the buildings to have large openings, which maximize natural light in all learning spaces.
The two classroom buildings are connected by a vertical circulation tower, which houses the restrooms, staircases, elevator, and evacuation ramp, serving all three floors of the complex.
